Our pouch is the most faithful reproduction of this classic style available for sale. Based entirely on the originals unearthed in finds across Medieval Europe, this pouch will satisfy the needs of the strictest re-enactor. This gorgeous pouch is cut from period-correct supple vegetable tanned goatskin, and hand-stitched with waxed linen thread. The wooden beads are based on the many examples portrayed in the contemporary art. At a full 10" in diameter, this pouch will hold a surprising volume of items securely (4.5" x 4.5" closed). There are a total of 80 lace-holes punched in two rows, which ensures the drawstrings don't rub together. The hole reinforcements on either side taper into a belt loop as seen on several extant finds. Each of the 40 beautiful accordion pleats are hand-rubbed with a bone tool into the moistened leather before assembly to insure a smooth drawstring operation and awesome look.
