In the medieval period, bracers were an important part of a knights armor. The forearm is a particularly vulnerable and oft-struck part of the body when engaging in swordcraft. The archer as well relied on leather bracers to protect the arm against the harsh lash of the bowstring. We craft every style bracer on this page in our USA studio out of the finest heavy duty vegetable tanned leathers. Many designs incorporate Viking and Celtic decorative knotwork from the Dark Ages through the Renaissance to suit a wide range of tastes.
